Day Two - March 16 - Mommy Holds Wyndham
Both babies are taken off ventilators. Treatments were successful.
Victoria is jaundiced (not unexpected). She seems to enjoy the sun lamp. Lia gets to hold Wyndham for the first time. Wyndham is
eating and pooping,
Day Three - March 17 - Moving on Up
At 8:30 a.m. Russell went to see the babies and they had been moved to intermediate care. This is still a part of NICNu. The doctor
told us "they graduated." This is great news and far sooner than we expected.
Day Four - March 18 - Mommy may be discharged
Both babies are doing fine. Victoria has been jaundiced for about two day and it looks like Wyndham is feeling left out. He wants to
sit under the sun lamp and catch some rays. You will notice the cool shades that Victoria is wearing in the pictures.
Victoria started pooping yesterday.
Victoria should begin feedings today. She is also being treated for apnia and bradichaia - heart rate thing. This is all normal and to
be expected.
Mom will be discharged tomorrow. She will stay at the Ronald McDonald House until Sunday. So that she can be near our babies.
After that there will be a lot of driving each day. Two hours round trip.
Lia held Victoria for the first time today. All of the nurses say Victoria is "feisty."
Russell got to hold Wyndham for about 45 minutes.
Sr. wept - Jr. slept.
Day 5 - March 19 - Lia is Discharged
Lia will be discharged today. She will spend tonight at the Ronald McDonald House. After that we will play it by ear.
Both Victoria and Wyndham are being treated with caffeine for apnia. This is also Dad's drug of choice. Dad's double latte is not
nearly as expensive but perhaps as therapeutic.
Pictures on site are of Wyndham Russell being held by parents. Lillian helping out. Lia and Russell with Wyndham and Victoria (in
isolets).
Day 6 - March 20 - Wow!!!
Late last evening Lia and Russell held the babies. Lia held Wyndham, Russell held Victoria and Lia and Russell held hands.
Victoria continues on oxygen but is improving Wyndham is only being weighed twice a week. This is good news.
Correction 5/21 - Victoria was removed from oxygen and is no breathing completely on her own.
Russell and Lillian will go to Savannah to bring mom home.
We hope to be able to schedule three or four days in advance.
Day 7 - March 21 - Still Improving
Wyndham and Victoria are still having some apnia. This is not affecting their heart rate (so this is good news). It means they are
self correcting. Both Wyndham and Victoria are have the volume of their feefings increased regularly.
Victoria is no longer in need of supplemental oxygen.
Both children had routine brain ultrasounds. We are awaiting the results.
Lia spent the night at home last night. Lillian was especially glad that her mother was home and able to pay her some attention.
Russell was glad as well.

Both Wyndham and Victoria are off all IVs. They are both being

delivered early and it compensates in how it produce milk.
